Junior Infants enjoyed planting bulbs that will flower during the Spring. We discussed what is important for a flower to grow and made sure to water them. Each child planted a Daffodil. We look forward to the Springtime so we can watch our flowers grow (hopefully)!

Literacy and Numeracy Stations in Junior Infants
Every morning between 10.00 am and 10.50 am Junior Infants take part in Station Learning. They rotate between different activities including practicing their writing on the whiteboard, threading, cutting, tracing letters in sand, making letters out of play dough, sorting activities and completing pages from their writing and Maths workbooks. Here are photographs of some of the activities Junior Infants were doing during stations in September and October.
Aistear in Junior Infants
We have started Aistear in our class. The children really look forward to this time of the day. The theme for the first two weeks of October was school. We have five different stations every day in our class – Small World, Construction, Role-Play, Sand/ Water and Junk Art.
Junior Infants Autumn Trail
Junior Infants went on an Autumn Trail around the school to find Autumn leaves. We noticed all the lovelyAutumn colours on the leaves. We brought them back in to our classroom and used the leaves as a bed for our hedgehogs as they hibernate.

Blow painting in Junior Infants
We used very watery paint and straws to create our paintings. We used the primary colours blue, red and yellow. These colours then mixed to make other colours.
